Cover Colors and CD Animals

The album was released with three different covers, with different colors for the logo and text: red, silver and black. The normal cover features red artwork. Half of the first U.S. and UK pressings featured the silver cover, which is now rare and out of print. The black cover was only available at shows on the U.S. tour following the album’s release, as well as through the Despair Faction’s online store, but is also now rare and out of print (with only 2500 copies in circulation).

International versions of the album use different artwork on the CD label. Some contain a picture of a foraminifer, others a dead bird, and most an inverted octupus. All pictures are taken from the book Animals by Jim Harter. Some versions, including the Ukrainian edition, use no picture on the CD label at all, and have inconsistent cover artwork from other versions.
