“The Art Of Drowning” in Top Ten Influential Punk Albums from 2000

In September’s issue of Alternative Press magazine “The Art Of Drowning” was named one of the top 10 influential punk albums from 2000 to influence today’s punk. The page has a very brief history of AFI and how their line up changes affected their sound, as well as a mini interview with Jade. This mostly talks about things going on with the band at the time the album was recorded. You can see the article in this thread on the DF.
Thanks to BrttnyD for the tip!

The issue of AP also had a full page ad for DW drums featuring Adam on the back page. It is also available in desktop format, in two sizes, 1600×1200 and 1280×1024.

Yesterday you posted that AFI were coming to brazil in october. Is that confirmed ?

By "you" do you mean AFI News HQ? I haven't heard of any plans for a tour in South America, sorry. If the post is gone it is 99% sure to be false.

Yeah i meant AFI news HQ,sorry if the way i said seemed rude. I saw this post yesterday about 4 or 5 pm, saying that AFI and Green Day were going to South America, there were some shows in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Porto Alegre in Brazil plus some in Venezuela and other coutries. I hope it happens. Thanks anyway james 🙂

Naw it wasn't rude! I was just wondering if it was in a comment or we had posted about it. That would be cool if it happens. Do you know who posted it? I can dig about it a bit to see 🙂

It was posted. I even commented. I was wondering why it was deleted…

bigs oops all. I posted the tour thing. I misread the info I got from Punknews.org although it did appear at first that AFI would be joining them and still may. Its just not confirmed.

  • Jabnews July 31, 2010 at 8:05 pm

I deleted it Mark. I don't wanna get people thinking AFI is coming to South America and their not. If i can confirm it I'll put it back up

Ruth could you email me a link to the article please? madrockradio@gmail.com, thanks!Rodrigo, I could see it happening in September, but I'm guessing they will stop touring before October.

  • Rodrigo August 1, 2010 at 6:49 pm

It would be awesome see them live, but i think they wont come to Brazil.James, there are some Green Day's shows schedule here in october, but in the sites i only saw that Green Day was confirmed. Unfortunately, i think this time i wont be able to see them live, but in the other hand, if they stop their tour as soon as you think we soon will hear Bright Black Heaven which is very good.
